Hoops at Night!

Author's Note: In my essay you will learn about helpful lessons in life.  Hopefully you will learn somethings that will help you in the long run.

It was a cold and rainy day, when Nick heard some weird noises outside.  He walked outside and saw his dad working on making a basketball court.  That is how the story all started. This book is great because it teaches you super useful lessons in life.  Carl Dueker, the author of Night Hoops, is a famous author that makes multiple sport books.

In “Night Hoops” the main character, Nick Abbot finds out that school comes before sports and other fun activities.   After Nick and his dad build the basketball court this boy has only been playing basketball.  When his mom started seeing downs in his grades, she made him go to the books.  This boy is in high school and the faster he learns that school is more important than sports the better he will be in life. 

Although it might be hard to work in all areas, to get far in life you need to work on them.  This includes maybe working in sports, school, and relationships with friends. If you don’t try hard in relationships they aren’t going to last.  This lesson you will learn in this book, when Nick starts doing this he sees improvement in grades and his game.

Before Nick was on first-string on varsity he was on third.  This boy demonstrated, never give up on your goals.  He practiced and practiced to achieve these dreams.  You will never succeed is you don’t work for it.  Nick worked his butt off day and night shooting hoops.  If you don’t work for your goals you will never achieve them.  LeBron James wouldn’t be where he is now if he didn’t work hard and on his dreams.

Carl Dueker is the author of many sports book with great lessons that will be helpful for many people in life.  One of the fabulous lessons you can learn is “Night Hoops “is never give up your dreams.  Although school is not as fun as sports, school is the thing that gets you far in life.
